We prioritise our work in communities with high levels of poverty according to the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. Our approach is based on the belief that in spite of the many difficulties, local people are the leaders and experts, using their skills, knowledge, passion and commitment to bring about lasting change. Our job is to come alongside and offer support in a variety of different ways:

• Our staff commit to being present in particular communities over a period of time, working closely on identified tasks and projects, as identified by local leaders.

• Community research and analysis: we can help make sense of a range of statistics and reports, digging deeper on some of the issues and challenges facing communities.

• Facilitation: we can support the development of teams and groups involved in different projects, helping those involved reflect on how they can work more effectively together.
