Poverty and Trauma
Conversations for Change
Poverty isn’t just about a lack of income - it’s about living with chronic stress, broken systems, and the emotional toll that comes with being unseen and unheard.
We work to change this. Our Poverty and Trauma working group meet regularly to research the issue and advocate for systems change grounded in dignity.

Mutual Mentoring
Conversations for Change
Our Mutual Mentoring projects take a different approach to some other conversations about poverty. We begin with humanity, first names, and common connections. We prioritise time and space without the pressure of an end result or the presence of a power dynamic. Our mentoring work is about mutual learning in a one-to-one, informal, regular setting over a 7 month period.
Our current Mutual Mentoring project is a partnership with GP’s at the deep End. Previous partnerships have been with the Scottish Government.

Human Rights Partnerships
Human Rights
We believe that the existence of poverty is a denial of human rights and dignity, and all our work takes a human rights approach. Thanks to support from Amnesty International, our community led human rights group has delivered local training sessions on poverty and human rights, showcasing how we can all get involved.
Membership of the Growing Rights Instead of Poverty Partnership (GRIPP) ensures we work with and learn from others.

Movement Building
Led by People living with Poverty
We are founded on and live out the motto, ‘Nothing about us, Without us, Is for us’ and are constantly exploring how that plays out in our work. Our support for individuals and community building strengthens our work; while involvement of community members in governance, planning, public speaking, representing us to other organisations and facilitation of meetings drives us forward.

Wellbeing Workshops
Humanity at the Heart
Wellbeing is a foundation of our work. We know that change doesn’t happen unless people are well enough to be part of it.
Our monthly wellbeing sessions, community walks and community meals ensure that community members are not just involved in our work for change, but that they also have space to breathe, rest and heal.
